He advises and provides governance training to senior leaders and company directors to ensure top-down compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations. Udoka's key skills are in compliance due process, risk management and environmental compliance across all energy sectors.

Key Transactions

  • Led anti-bribery and corruption compliance efforts for the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) following a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) for violation of the United States Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA);
  • Spearheaded Well Drilling compliance analysis and efforts to correct compliance gaps related to the use of radioactive materials. Led organization through training, design and deployment which avoided monetary and brand damage of significant proportion;
  • Lead lawyer on the SPDC decommissioning and abandonment project team with a combined monetary value of US$3 Billion;
  • Lead lawyer on the divestment of a joint venture interest on an asset valued at approximately US$100 Million;
  • Provided strategy and counsel for the management of US$3 Billion in third party monetary claim related to the largest oil spill in Nigeria;

  • Co-authored – Management of catastrophic oil spill: Reflections on the Bonga oil spill. Delivered in Brussels Belgium (2013)
